Injury Brings Season to End for Holguin

Ignacio Holguin had hoped for the best, but expected the worst. Today, he learned from the Baltimore (DSL) medical staff that he would miss the rest of the season. The Baltimore (DSL) reliever suffered a torn labrum in an earlier ballgame. He admitted to being discouraged, but said he plans to come back strong next year.
On the season, Holguin has delivered 0 saves in 5 relief appearances. He has 5 strikeouts in 6 innings with a 3.00 ERA and a 0-1 mark.

Kamber Bangs Out 5 Base Hits

Toronto (DSL) first baseman Randy Kamber had a day to remember, 5-for-6 against the Arizona (DSL) Diamondbacks 2 at Rogers Centre as the Blue Jays picked up a win, 22-5.
"He was patient up there," Toronto (DSL) skipper Jared Reimer told the press after the game. "I like the way he waited for his pitch and wasn't overly aggressive. Kamber has a tendency to chase bad balls sometimes."
Randy Kamber singled in the 2nd, doubled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, was hit by a pitch in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Agostinho Rebolo in the 7th, hit a two-run double in the 7th and flied out in the 8th.
For the season, Kamber is hitting at a .447 clip with 4 home runs, 13 RBIs and has scored 17 runs. He has 21 hits, 7 walks and a .536 on-base percentage.

Hits Galore: Gentry Drills 5 Hits

Tim Gentry of the Athletics was unstoppable in his team's 15-10 victory over the Philadelphia (DSL) Phillies White at Sutter Health Park. He battered them for 5 hits in 5 at-bats.
"Boy, I was on the mark today," said the DSL center fielder after the game. "I could see the ball real well. It's a great feeling to do this. And besides, 5-for-5 won't hurt your batting average like 0-for-5 will."
Tim Gentry singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th and singled in the 7th.
This year, Gentry has hit at a .431 clip with 22 hits, 3 home runs, 13 RBIs and 11 runs scored.
