Rockies 2 Chill Chiaretti Hot Streak
Saturday, July 18th , 2026
The Colorado (DSL) Rockies 2 got more than the 4-2 victory at Mets 1 Ballpark -- they also put an end to the 25-game hitting streak of New York N (DSL) Mets 1 shortstop Franklin Chiaretti by holding him without a hit in 5 at-bats.
After the game, Chiaretti seemed more concerned with his team taking the loss than with the demise of his streak.
"I had some great looks at some pitches that I should have hit," he said. "I missed some that I shouldn't have swung at. All in all, I wasn't much help with the bat today."
This season, Chiaretti has delivered 54 hits in 138 at-bats for a .391 average with 8 home runs. He is getting on base at a .445 clip and his totals also include 25 RBIs and 34 runs scored. This year Chiaretti has played in 32 games.

5-Hit Barrage by Diaz
Saturday, July 18th , 2026
Cleveland (DSL) third baseman Ivan Diaz had a big day at Texas (DSL) Grounds against the Texas (DSL) Rangers 1. The 17-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-5 and led to the 8-1 Guardians 1 triumph over Texas (DSL).
"Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Diaz said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all."
Ivan Diaz singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI triple in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
This year, Diaz is batting .355 with 3 home runs and 18 RBIs.

San Francisco (DSL) Loses Kaylor for Season
Saturday, July 18th , 2026
Clearly dejected, Andy Kaylor left the San Francisco (DSL) clubhouse nearly in tears this afternoon. He acknowledged that his season is over after sustaining a torn rotator cuff in a ballgame recently. It brings an early end to the San Francisco (DSL) starting pitcher's season.
On the season, Kaylor has compiled a 2-1 mark with a 3.86 ERA in 7 starts. In pitching 32.2 innings he has 33 strikeouts and 10 walks while limiting the opposition to a .276 batting average.
