Perez Extends Hit Streak to 20 Games Wednesday, August 27th , 2025 With 1 hit at Guardians 2 Ballpark, Octavio Perez added another game to his hitting streak -- the Arizona (DSL) third baseman has now hit safely for 20 games in a row. But the hitting feat wasn't enough for the Diamondbacks 1, as they fell, 2-1, to the Cleveland (DSL) Guardians 2. "Frankly, I don't care about hits," Cleveland (DSL) manager Matt Schroeder said later. "I'll let him get 4 hits in 4 at-bats if it means we get a win." Octavio Perez grounded out in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th and struck out in the 9th. Perez currently has a .379 batting average with 72 hits, 9 homers, 42 RBIs, 40 runs scored and a .452 OBP. |
