Big Day with Bat: Avila 5-for-5 Friday, August 22nd , 2025 Christian Avila exploded for a barrage of base hits at Rockies 2 Park. The Chicago N (DSL) center fielder had a field day in his team's 8-4 triumph over the Colorado (DSL) Rockies 2, finishing 5-for-5. "My hitting philosophy is simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch." Avila must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too, leading to one of his best days ever with the bat. Christian Avila singled in the 1st, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Robby Espada in the 6th, doubled in the 8th and singled in the 9th. On the year, Avila has hit .265 with 4 home runs, 15 RBIs and scored 16 runs. |
