Athletics Chill Pinet Hot Streak
Tuesday, August 19th , 2025
Atlanta (DSL) second baseman Claude Pinet came into today's game against the DSL Athletics on a hot streak. He left on a cold one.
The Athletics did their jobs well, beating the Atlanta (DSL) Braves, 4-3, and holding Pinet hitless to snap his 21-game hitting streak. The 19-year-old second baseman had a few words to say after finishing 0-for-3, telling reporters only that he "came up short."
"What Claude did was exciting and quite an achievement," said Braves manager Mark Stiver. "It's tough enough to get one hit in this league, much less go 21 games in a row. I'm even more proud of the way he handled the press coverage. He never let the frenzy get to him or affect his play."
This year, Pinet is hitting at a .428 pace with 3 home runs and 19 RBIs. He has played in 38 games and scored 33 times.
