Funk Gets 5 Hits Thursday, August 14th , 2025 Some moments become linked with a particular player's career forever. Danny Funk of the Los Angeles (DSL) Angels had one of those moments when he went 5-for-5 at the plate in his team's 9-4 win over the Detroit (DSL) Tigers 2 at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. "I won't forget this anytime soon, and I don't expect it to happen too often," the 20-year-old right fielder told reporters in the postgame interview. "I'll be happy to just get a hit or two every day. Enough to hang around the league a while longer. Like 10, maybe 15 more years." Danny Funk singled in the 1st, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th. In his season totals Funk has 4 home runs and a .418 batting average. |
