Smith Clobbers 3 HR Against Nationals

San Francisco (DSL) Giants 2 left fielder Shane Smith left the Washington (DSL) pitching staff in ruins at Nationals Park, beating the Nationals, 12-5, with a prodigious three-home run performance.
"The last one was totally unexpected," Smith told reporters at the press conference following his big game. "I just wanted to make good contact, never thinking I would get a home run, and bang, I got number three."
For the game, the San Francisco (DSL) left fielder had 3 hits in 4 at-bats, drove in 6 and scored 3 runs.
Shane Smith struck out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Luis Almonte in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Juan Hernandez in the 4th and hit a two-run home run off Omar Villatoro in the 6th.
This year, Smith has batted at a .281 pace with 41 hits, 11 home runs, 33 RBIs and scored 24 times.
