5-Hit Blitz by Arizona (DSL)'s Herrera Tuesday, August 5th , 2025 It wasn't just another day at the ballpark for Pedro Herrera of the Arizona (DSL) Diamondbacks 2. Herrera went on a tear at Daikin Park and cracked hit after hit off Houston (DSL) pitching. When the dust settled on the diamond, the 20-year-old catcher had a career 5-for-6 day and something he will long remember. "Yeah, it'll be something nice to tell the grandkids, but I don't think I'll tell them we lost," he joked in the BNN postgame interview. Despite Herrera's personal accolades, the Houston (DSL) Astros walked off the field with the 8-7 win. Pedro Herrera grounded out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Dave Moncion in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, doubled in the 7th, doubled in the 8th and singled in the 9th. Thus far this season, Herrera is hitting .375 with 5 home runs, 20 RBIs and 21 runs scored. He has 33 hits in 88 at-bats and has played in 22 games. |
