Super Swinger -- Johnson Slams 5 Hits Tuesday, July 29th , 2025 After a 5-hit effort to lead Washington (DSL)'s 6-4 victory over the Tampa Bay (DSL) Rays 1, center fielder Justin Johnson told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day." "It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the Dominican Rookie League-level is really something special." The 21-year-old player earned his accolades at Rays 1 Field with a spectacular 5-for-5 game against the Rays 1. "His swing is getting there," said Nationals skipper Kevin Greenstein, who spoke glowingly of Johnson after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Justin did that to perfection." Justin Johnson singled in the 1st, hit a GRAND SLAM off Billy Macias in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI triple in the 6th and singled in the 8th. Johnson is currently hitting at a .352 pace with 2 home runs and 7 RBIs. |
