5-Hit Blitz by Pittsburgh (DSL)'s Chabolla Friday, June 27th , 2025 After a 5-hit effort to lead Pittsburgh (DSL)'s 15-1 victory over the Cleveland (DSL) Guardians 1, center fielder Victor Chabolla told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day." "It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the Dominican Rookie League-level is really something special." The 19-year-old player earned his accolades at Guardians 1 Grounds with a spectacular 5-for-6 game against the Guardians 1. "His swing is getting there," said Pirates 1 skipper Andy Hopper, who spoke glowingly of Chabolla after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Victor did that to perfection." Victor Chabolla doubled in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 1st, singled in the 4th, struck out in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and singled in the 8th. This season, Chabolla is hitting .474 with 9 hits, no home runs, 3 RBIs, scored 4 runs and played in 10 games. |
