The Arizona (DSL) Diamondbacks 2 left fielder tagged Minnesota (DSL) pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats, but his teammates were unable to capitalize on the spree and lost the game to the Minnesota (DSL) Twins by the score of 8-7. "The loss takes some of the joy out of it, but I'll take it," Williams said. "5-for-5 ain't bad in any league." Despite the terrific performance, the Diamondbacks 2 manager was unwilling to offer the left fielder much praise, saying the "whole roster" is held accountable for losses. "John told me 'Coach, I had 5 hits' and I said 'Well that's great, but it looks like we needed one more from you,'" manager Kevin Gonzalez said. John Williams singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 7th and doubled in the 9th. This season, Williams is batting .431 with 2 home runs. He has scored 14 runs and driven in 10. |
