Texas League Premier Pitcher is Jasmins

A reliever is at his best when the game is on the line. The pressure doesn't get to him. François Jasmins of the Midland RockHounds is just that kind of pitcher. In May, he was acclaimed the Pitcher of the Month by the Texas League.
Midland's star reliever held the opposition to a .163 average and put up 7 saves and 15 strikeouts in 14.2 innings with a 3-0 mark and a 0.61 ERA.
This year, Jasmins has delivered 12 saves. In 19 relief appearances, he has 22 strikeouts in 23.1 innings with a 0.77 ERA. His season won-lost mark is 5-1.

French Snags TEX Batting Honor in May

Ryan French is in the final year of his contract with Midland and today added a timely piece of hardware to his trophy case. Playing in 26 games in May the 26-year-old third baseman ripped Texas League pitchers for a .330 batting average, nabbing him the Batter of the Month award.
He also rang up 7 home runs, 22 RBIs and 21 runs scored.
If French keeps up this pace, he'll cost someone a lot of money.
At present, French is batting .341 with 61 hits and 10 home runs. He has knocked in 32 runs and scored 36 times.
