Aroca Goes 5-for-5
Wednesday, August 27th , 2025
The Amarillo Sod Poodles stopped the Corpus Christi Hooks by a score of 16-3 at Sod Poodles Field, with the lion's share of the credit going to second baseman Nick Aroca. The 27-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits.

"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Aroca said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."

Aroca did just that in his 5 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Hooks.

"Not much that I can say," offered Corpus Christi manager Jose Bolanos. "He just hammered the heck out of us."

Nick Aroca singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 6th and hit an RBI single in the 7th.

For the season, Aroca is currently batting .300 with 9 home runs and 43 RBIs. In 69 games he has reached base at a .346 rate and scored 42 runs to date.
Mena Sensational, 5-for-5
Wednesday, August 27th , 2025
Arkansas second baseman Carlos Mena had a big day at Ballpark of Arkansas against the Northwest Arkansas Naturals. The 20-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-5 and led to the 7-5 Travelers triumph over Northwest Arkansas.

"Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Mena said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all."

Carlos Mena singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Joel Napier in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.

This season, Mena is batting .330 with 5 home runs.
Munoz Gets 5 Hits
Wednesday, August 27th , 2025
It was a parade of hits for Roberto Munoz of the Midland RockHounds at Missions Park.

Connecting almost every time he went to the plate, Munoz finished the day with a total of 5 hits in 5 at-bats. His strong individual effort propelled the RockHounds to a win, 12-2.

"Munoz was really good and we were really bad," groaned Missions manager Jeff Gill. "Next time he's that hot, we'll just walk him."

Roberto Munoz hit a solo-shot off Dana Lubin in the 1st, walked in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit a solo-shot off Nate Welch in the 9th.

This season, Munoz has banged out 116 hits in 361 at-bats for a .321 average with 8 home runs. He is getting on base at a .364 pace and his totals also include 44 RBIs and 55 runs scored.
