5-Hit Game for Robinson
Wednesday, July 2nd , 2025
There aren't many who could be pro ballplayers and there are even fewer who could put up 5 hits in a day.
Dave Robinson is one of those rare few, as he went 5-for-6 against the Detroit E (FCL) Tigers East at Orioles Black Grounds. The monster effort from the 22-year-old catcher helped the Baltimore (FCL) Orioles Black get the win, 18-4.
"We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," said Tigers East manager Nick Heiden. "That's the game, though. Don't make mistakes and you'll win ballgames. Make mistakes and, well, you saw what happened today."
Dave Robinson singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, grounded out in the 4th, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run double in the 6th and singled in the 7th.
This year, Robinson has collected a .304 batting average to date with 14 hits in 46 at-bats, 13 RBIs, no home runs and scored 4 times. He has played in 11 games.
