Kansas City catcher Evan Schmitz experienced something against the New York Yankees he hadn't experienced a while: a hitless game.

The Yankees pitching corps quieted his hot bat and snapped his streak at 20 games, but his teammates picked up the slack to lead the Royals to a 12-3 victory at Yankee Stadium.

"Hey, ain't nothin' bad about a losing a 20-game hitting streak," Schmitz joked with reporters after the game. "Now you guys will have to find someone else to bother for stories."

So far this season, Schmitz is hitting .353 with 2 home runs, 10 RBIs and 11 runs scored. He has 48 hits in 136 at-bats and a .418 OBP.
