Schmitz Extends Hit Streak to 20 Games Wednesday, May 14th , 2025 Evan Schmitz has been ripping hits every day for a while now, and nobody seems able to stop him. The Kansas City catcher picked up 2 more today against the Baltimore Orioles and now has a 20-game hitting streak. The Royals won the game, 5-1. "Definitely somebody's going to stop me at some point," he said later, chuckling. "I'll enjoy it for the time being." Evan Schmitz doubled in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 4th and flied out in the 7th. This season, Schmitz has hit at a .364 clip with 10 RBIs, 2 home runs and 11 runs scored. He has played in 36 games. |
