Washington Belts 5 Hits

Today at American Family Field, Brandon Washington put on an impressive display.

The Lake Wylie Renegades second baseman tagged Milwaukee pitching for 5 hits in 7 at-bats, but his teammates were unable to capitalize on the spree and lost the game to the Milwaukee Brewers by the score of 6-5.

"The loss takes some of the joy out of it, but I'll take it," Washington said. "5-for-7 ain't bad in any league."

Despite the terrific performance, the Renegades manager was unwilling to offer the second baseman much praise, saying the "whole roster" is held accountable for losses.

"Brandon told me 'Coach, I had 5 hits' and I said 'Well that's great, but it looks like we needed one more from you,'" manager Scott Barber said.

Brandon Washington hit a solo-shot off Nick Bryan in the 3rd, grounded out in the 4th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 9th, doubled in the 11th, struck out in the 12th and singled in the 15th.

Washington is batting at a .415 pace this season, picking up 17 hits in 41 at-bats with 2 home runs, 6 RBIs and 6 runs scored.
