Martin Gets 5 Hits Tuesday, May 19th , 2026 The 5th time is the charm -- at least for Josh Martin. The first baseman for the Kansas City Royals hit the milestone against the New York Yankees, helping his club to a narrow 2-1 victory. Martin finished with a 5-for-5 line at the plate. "Martin was a tough out," New York manager Chris Robinson told the press in the postgame interview. "If it weren't for him, I think we had this one." Josh Martin singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th. Martin is hitting at a .358 mark this season.
