5-Hit Barrage by Ferris Thursday, April 16th , 2026 5 times is the charm -- at least for Matt Ferris. The Detroit Tigers first baseman tore up the Minnesota Twins to the tune of 5 hits in 5 at-bats at Target Field. The offensive onslaught from Ferris powered the 7-4 Tigers win. "Ferris was a tough out," Minnesota manager Eric Fielding said to the press in the postgame interview. "He hit some very good pitches with that quick bat of his. Not an easy out, that's for sure." Matt Ferris hit an RBI single in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Ryan Wallis in the 9th.
