Lorenz Casts Spell Over St. Louis, as Reds Win Sunday, April 12th , 2026 The St. Louis Cardinals manager was philosophical in the clubhouse following a shutout loss to the Cincinnati Reds. The Cardinals were overpowered by Cincinnati starter Nate Lorenz, who hurled his club to victory, 9-0. "It was just one of those games -- shake it off and do better next time," Brock Naff said. Over 9 innings, Lorenz blanked St. Louis on 1 hit with 1 walk and 13 strikeouts. "I kept them off balance. I could tell a lot of them were late on fastballs because they were fouling them off.
