New York-San Francisco Announce Swap Thursday, February 5th , 2026 You can focus on the negatives after being traded to a new team -- finding a new place to stay, leaving teammates and friends, having to start anew -- but one player hopes to focus on the positives. "It means I'm wanted somewhere. At least one team sees potential in me." Those were the comments heard after the New York Yankees came to an agreement to deal 22-year old minor league RHP Roberto Hernandez and 22-year old minor league 3B Alex Lopez to the San Francisco Giants for 25-year old RHP Roger Dettman earlier today. The deal is expected to be formally announced later this evening. Dettman has logged a 1-4 record in his career, appearing in 33 games with 45 strikeouts and 25 walks in 52.2 innings. He has been credited with no saves and has a 7.35 ERA. |
