Los Angeles-Arizona Brawl, Shea and Lax Suspended

After an intense confrontation, both the Angels P.J. Shea and the Diamondbacks David Lax were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Los Angeles-Arizona game. P.J. Shea will miss 4 games, while David Lax was suspended for 8 games.
"Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," P.J. Shea commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play."
At the moment, Shea is hitting .312 with 11 home runs and 80 RBIs. He has played in 146 games and scored 67 times.
This season, Lax has a 11-8 mark in 32 starts with a 3.79 ERA. He has given up 141 hits in 187.2 innings, struck out 238 and issued 95 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .207 batting average against him.
