Chicago Halts Reddin's Hitting Steak Friday, September 12th , 2025 The Chicago Cubs clamped down on Pete Reddin and put a stop to his hit streak. He went without a hit, ending the run at 20 straight games, but it didn't keep the Mariners from winning. Seattle downed the Cubs, 4-3. "It was bound to happen," Reddin said with a shrug after the game. So far this season, Reddin has gotten 139 hits in 420 at-bats for a .331 batting average with 8 home runs.
