Injury Setback for Rays Rivera Monday, September 8th , 2025 The Tampa Bay Rays will have to do without third baseman David Rivera even longer than expected. Team doctors say that Rivera's recovery from a strained back muscle has not gone well and more time will be needed to treat it successfully. The Rays trainer indicated it would be at least 3 weeks before they would consider activating Rivera. For the season, Rivera is batting .272 with 125 hits and 7 home runs. He has scored 52 times and batted in 47. |
