Perez Packs a Wallop -- Hits 3 HR Against Rays Wednesday, August 27th , 2025 It was a good day for the New York Mets and an exceptional one for Jose Perez. The 26-year-old left fielder sent three bombs out of the park to help the Mets beat the Tampa Bay Rays, 8-2, at Tropicana Field. "When you're in the zone, the game really slows down," Perez said when asked about his performance later. "I couldn't even tell you what pitches were thrown. Today feels great, but it is a long season and tomorrow is another day." For the day, he scored 4 times, drove in 3 runs and smacked 3 hits in 3 at-bats.
