Minnesota, San Francisco Close Deal
Thursday, July 31st , 2025
You can focus on the negatives after being traded to a new team -- finding a new place to stay, leaving teammates and friends, having to start anew -- but one player hopes to focus on the positives. "It means I'm wanted somewhere. At least one team sees potential in me." Those were the comments heard after the Minnesota Twins came to an agreement to deal 18-year old minor league RHP Kevin Edmonds to the San Francisco Giants for 39-year old RHP Nick Franson earlier today. The deal is expected to be formally announced later this evening.
For the year, Franson has 20 relief appearances and a 1-0 record with no saves. He has logged 31 innings and allowed 33 base hits. Opposing clubs have put up a .262 batting average against him. Franson has rung up 28 strikeouts, surrendered 14 walks and fashioned a 3.19 ERA.
