Cincinnati, Chicago Make Trade Wednesday, July 30th , 2025 Proving the old adage that one man's trash is another man's treasure, the Reds announced today the acquisition of 33-year old LHP Danny Arellano and $20,000 in cash from the Chicago White Sox in exchange for 19-year old minor league RHP Dan Marin, 17-year old minor league RHP Kyle Curtis, and 21-year old minor league LHP Edwin Hernandez. "This isn't the deal of the century," acknowledged the Reds, "but we think it will improve the direction of both teams." Chicago will retain a portion of Arellano's remaining contract. On the season, Arellano has delivered 2 saves in 28 relief appearances. He has 17 strikeouts in 26.2 innings with a 8.78 ERA and a 2-4 mark. |
