Houston Stops Amaro Hit Streak
Monday, June 2nd , 2025
Baltimore third baseman Juan Amaro came into today's game against the Houston Astros on a hot streak. He left on a cold one.
The Astros did their jobs well, beating the Baltimore Orioles, 3-1, and holding Amaro hitless to snap his 20-game hitting streak. The 22-year-old third baseman had a few words to say after finishing 0-for-4, telling reporters only that he "came up short."
"What Juan did was exciting and quite an achievement," said Orioles manager John Serocki. "It's tough enough to get one hit in this league, much less go 20 games in a row. I'm even more proud of the way he handled the press coverage. He never let the frenzy get to him or affect his play."
This season, Amaro is batting .326 with 4 home runs. His totals include 22 RBIs and 34 runs scored.
