Rawhide Lopez Smacks 5 Hits Sunday, April 27th , 2025 Visalia center fielder Manny Lopez added his name to the record books with a 5-hit spree at Rawhide Stadium, but found his special moment spoiled when the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes took a shootout win, 14-13, over the Rawhide. "I would have much preferred getting only a couple of hits and winning the game," he confessed to reporters afterward. "It's hard to go back into the clubhouse and celebrate a 5-hit game when you also lost." Rawhide manager Matt Peyton called Lopez's game "a once-in-a-lifetime moment." "It's a shame the guy can't really enjoy it," the skipper said. "It's also a shame what happened with our pitching, but at least that we can try to fix." Manny Lopez singled in the 1st, singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th, grounded out in the 7th and hit an RBI double in the 9th. |
