5-for-5 Day for Bates Thursday, April 16th , 2026 It was a parade of hits for Bobby Bates of the Inland Empire 66ers at Inland Empire Grounds. Connecting almost every time he went to the plate, Bates finished the day with a total of 5 hits in 5 at-bats. His strong individual effort propelled the 66ers to a win, 13-0. "Bates was really good and we were really bad," groaned Storm manager Brent Gerhardt. "Next time he's that hot, we'll just walk him." Bobby Bates doubled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Alexis Mares in the 5th, singled in the 6th and hit an RBI double in the 8th. Thus far this year, Bates has hit .400 with 1 home run and 3 RBIs. |
