Red-Hot Lopez Scorches Storm Monday, June 16th , 2025 Manny Lopez was at the head of a Visalia hit parade at Storm Field. The first baseman went to the plate 6 times and came away with 5 hits, sparking the Rawhide to a nice 13-4 victory over the Lake Elsinore Storm. "I told the guys in the dugout, just be thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere," the sweet-swinging Lopez told reporters after the game. "Seems like it worked out well for us today." Storm skipper Brent Gerhardt said later that the club gave up "too much plate." "Not the way we planned it," he said. "Every hitter in the league will rip you when you do that." Manny Lopez singled in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th and doubled in the 8th. So far this season, Lopez has gotten 72 hits in 182 at-bats for a .396 batting average with 8 home runs. His stats include 36 RBIs and 27 runs scored. He has played in 44 games. |
