5-Hit Blitz by Clearwater's Ortiz Monday, May 5th , 2025 Clearwater second baseman Vicente Ortiz had a day to remember, 5-for-5 against the Jupiter Hammerheads at Threshers Park as the Threshers picked up a win, 13-2. "He was patient up there," Clearwater skipper Jerry Scott told the press after the game. "I like the way he waited for his pitch and wasn't overly aggressive. Ortiz has a tendency to chase bad balls sometimes." Vicente Ortiz singled in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th and singled in the 7th. For the year, Ortiz has hit .343 with no home runs, 5 RBIs and scored 10 runs. |
