5-Hit Blitz by Pullen Sunday, May 17th , 2026 Even as a kid, Donnie Pullen said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At Mighty Mussels Ballpark, Pullen showed how well he learned that lesson. The 20-year-old third baseman had 5 hits in 6 at-bats for the Daytona Tortugas, helping his team knock off the Fort Myers Mighty Mussels by a score of 11-0. "They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did." Donnie Pullen hit a two-run home run off Alex Castaneda in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Michael Reid in the 7th, grounded out in the 8th and singled in the 9th. For the year, Pullen has hit at a .348 clip with 25 RBIs, 7 home runs and 15 runs scored. |
