Palm Beach Snaps McLaughlin Streak at 22
Saturday, April 25th , 2026
It was a doubly miserable day for John McLaughlin of the Jupiter Hammerheads, as he saw his 22-game hitting streak end and his team lose, 14-1, to the Palm Beach Cardinals at Busch Stadium. The 18-year-old second baseman was held hitless in 3 at-bats by the Cardinals.

"Anyone on a 22-game hitting streak is going to be a tough out," Palm Beach manager Scott Anderson said later. "But we had a plan and we were careful about it, and got it done."

So far this year, McLaughlin has hit .417 with no home runs, 4 RBIs and 14 runs scored.
