At Tortugas Grounds, he made his case to be considered among that group. The 23-year-old right fielder hammered 5 hits in 6 chances, though the remarkable effort came even as his Palm Beach Cardinals fell, 14-7, to the Daytona Tortugas. "We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," Tortugas manager Ryan Lynch told BNN sportswriters after the game. "Thankfully, we were able to do enough elsewhere that Lalama wasn't the difference." Danny Lalama singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, flied out in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th. This season, Lalama is hitting .298 with 10 home runs. |
