Mendez on Fire: 5-for-6 for St. Lucie Wednesday, August 13th , 2025 Gregorio Mendez was sizzling at the plate. In a game played at Hammerheads Park, the St. Lucie third baseman blistered the Jupiter Hammerheads for 5 hits in 6 at-bats to pace his club to a good 13-6 victory. "Mendez was too tough to get out," Hammerheads skipper Nate Lockwood said in his postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too." Gregorio Mendez singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run double in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and grounded out in the 9th. This year, Mendez has collected a .312 batting average to date with 64 hits in 205 at-bats, 28 RBIs, 8 home runs and scored 23 times. He has played in 62 games. |
