Martinez Holds Jupiter Scoreless Friday, June 27th , 2025 Tampa Tarpons starter Carlos Martinez really did a number on the Jupiter Hammerheads, shutting them out, 6-0, on 3 hits in a complete game victory. He issued no walks and had 4 strikeouts. "We didn't have good at-bats," said Jupiter manager Nate Lockwood. "I don't make excuses, but when we were playing the game, our energy didn't show. That comes from either extremely good pitching or extremely lousy hitting and seeing as our team has a bunch of good hitters, I have to tip my cap to Martinez." This season, Martinez has worked 42.1 innings with 37 strikeouts en route to a 4-0 record and a 1.91 ERA. |
