Hits Galore: Diaz Drills 5 Hits Thursday, June 26th , 2025 In a career performance, Dunedin Blue Jays third baseman Rafael Diaz sparkled with the bat at Rogers Centre. Powering his way to a 5-for-5 day at the plate, Diaz led the Blue Jays to a nice 12-0 win over the Bradenton Marauders. Diaz was in high spirits in the clubhouse after the game, joking with reporters that the big game had left him "winded." "Oh sure, 5 hits sounds great but think about how much more baserunning you have to do," he said with a smile. "Next time, I'm just going to take 5 walks." Rafael Diaz singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Dan Hargrove in the 6th and hit an RBI single in the 7th. To date Diaz has chalked up a .354 average with 9 home runs, driven in 45 runs and scored 47 times. |
