Tarpons Chill Lebeda Hot Streak
Tuesday, June 3rd , 2025
The 22-game hitting streak of Palm Beach Cardinals second baseman Radomir Lebeda came to an end at Tarpons Grounds. The Tampa Tarpons held him hitless in 2 at-bats and also sent the Cardinals down to defeat, 2-1.
Later, Lebeda acknowledged to BNN reporters that the hit streak meant something to him.
"It was special," he said, "but I think other people make a bigger deal out of it than I do, or the players do. It was what we're all supposed to do; go out and hit the ball and try to score runs. It was a cool deal, but it's over now. Let's try to start a new one."
This year, Lebeda is hitting .394 with 1 home run and 15 RBIs in 42 games played. He also boasts an OBP of .414 with 7 walks and 20 runs scored.
