Pedro Stops Eugene Cold, Dust Devils Win, 10-0
Friday, May 16th , 2025
The Eugene Emeralds manager was philosophical in the clubhouse following a shutout loss to the Tri-City Dust Devils. The Emeralds were overpowered by Tri-City starter Felix Pedro, who hurled his club to victory, 10-0.
"It was just one of those games -- shake it off and do better next time," Bill Hughes said.
Over 9 innings, Pedro blanked Eugene on 2 hits with 3 walks and 6 strikeouts.
"I kept them off balance. I could tell a lot of them were late on fastballs because they were fouling them off. Once you see that, it sets them up for other pitches," Pedro said.
"I set them up, where if they chased one breaking ball, they were going to chase another one."
Pedro has a 1-2 season record so far. In 3 starts, he has fanned 17 batters in 20.2 innings with a 4.35 ERA.
