Chacona on a Tear, Hits for Cycle Wednesday, May 27th , 2026 Most fans have never seen a player hit for the cycle, and most players have never done it -- but it happened today at Hillsboro Grounds. Gil Chacona of the Hillsboro Hops accomplished the feat against Vancouver Canadians. Chacona went 4-for-4 with 1 single, 1 double, 1 triple and 1 home run in the 9-0 Hillsboro victory. "That was one for the grandkids, am I right?" Chacona said after the game. Chacona also scored 2 runs and had 2 RBI in a day to remember for both Chacona and the crowd at Hillsboro Grounds. Gil Chacona tripled in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Miguel Castillo in the 4th, singled in the 6th and doubled in the 7th. Chacona is currently hitting at a .254 pace with 4 home runs, 22 RBIs and has scored 14 times. |
