Hillsboro-Vancouver Brawl, Trainor and Padilla Suspended
Wednesday, May 27th , 2026
If there wasn't a history between Phil Trainor of Hillsboro and Carlos Padilla of Vancouver, then there is one now. The incident between the two sparked a bench-clearing scrum with those two being the center of attention. Now they will miss 4 and 9 games respectively as a result of their actions. The league office announced their suspensions today.

"We're both really competitive," Trainor said later, "and sometimes things go a little too far because of it."

This season, Trainor has hit at a .309 clip with 20 RBIs, 6 home runs and 24 runs scored. He has played in 45 games.

Padilla has taken the mound for 10 relief appearances this season, nailing down no saves while notching a 0-0 record with a 4.12 ERA. The Vancouver reliever has limited opposing batters to a .284 batting average.
