Friday, June 13th , 2025
Today was Stewart Ahernfeld's turn in the rotation for the Hillsboro Hops and he made the most of it, shutting out the Spokane Indians on 9 hits.
The 22-year-old right-hander led the Hops to an easy 11-0 victory, allowing no walks and tallying 4 strikeouts.
"I hope we miss him next time," Spokane manager Garrett Bray said. "Ahernfeld certainly pitched a strong game against us today. He was in a groove, throwing everything for strikes. Throwing hard. Changing speeds."
Ahernfeld has taken the mound for 11 relief appearances this season, nailing down 1 save while notching a 3-0 record with a 2.42 ERA. The Hillsboro reliever has limited opposing batters to a .261 batting average.
