Great Day for Abreu -- 5 Hits Tuesday, May 13th , 2025 It was almost a perfect day for Raul Abreu. The Wilmington third baseman displayed a hot bat, enjoying an outstanding 5-hit day, but something was missing: The Blue Rocks lost to the Rome Braves, 4-3. Abreu told BNN reporters after the game that luck was "fickle." Wilmington manager Tommy Osborne told the beat writers otherwise. "There was no luck today," the skipper said. "He got 5 hits because he has a solid approach to hitting and he put it all together, and we lost because the rest of us didn't put it together so well." Raul Abreu singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and singled in the 9th. For the year, Abreu is batting .406 with no home runs. |
