5 Hits for Dash Dykstra
Saturday, April 26th , 2025
It takes more than one player to win a baseball game - as proven by Mike Dykstra of the Winston-Salem Dash.
The Winston-Salem right fielder gave it his all and dominated Greensboro Grasshoppers pitching at Dash Grove, finishing with a great 5-for-5 line. However, when the game ended, the scoreboard showed the Grasshoppers going home the winner, 8-5.
"There's no point gloating about a 5-hit day in a loss," Dykstra said. "A loss just means you should have done more. Maybe I should have hit 5 home runs instead."
Mike Dykstra singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th and hit an RBI double in the 8th.
This year, Dykstra is batting .409 with 27 hits, no home runs, 4 RBIs, 2 walks, .426 OBP and has scored 9 runs.
