Big Day with Bat: Tyson 5-for-5 Thursday, April 9th , 2026 It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-5 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Rusty Tyson, it came around today. The 21-year-old third baseman scattered hits all over BlueClaws Stadium to pace the 11-2 Jersey Shore BlueClaws victory over the Hudson Valley Renegades. Hudson Valley skipper David Barder told reporters in the press room that "Tyson deserves a hat-tip." "He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Tyson hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit." Rusty Tyson singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Nick Sanchez in the 6th and doubled in the 7th. |
