Big Day for Lowe: Swats 5 Hits Wednesday, May 28th , 2025 Asheville third baseman Ed Lowe went down swinging at Tourists Grove, knocking out 5 hits even as his Tourists fell, 10-9. "It was like I was hitting Little League pitching," Lowe said after his 5-for-6 performance against the Aberdeen Ironbirds. "No offense meant to Aberdeen, but it was like I was back in little league again -- I could see the ball that well." After the game, his manager elaborated on the third baseman's improvements, saying Lowe spent the offseason trying to shorten his swing and stay inside the ball. "That's what I'm trying to do," Lowe agreed. "Be quick to the ball and let it travel a little farther so I get a better look at it." Ed Lowe doubled in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, hit an RBI triple in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 9th. Lowe is currently batting .361 with 2 home runs and 14 RBIs. |
