Hewett Midwest League's Hottest Hitter Monday, May 12th , 2025 Fort Wayne fans have something to crow about today as Fort Wayne shortstop Jeremy Hewett nabbed the Midwest League Player of the Week Award for his performance over the last seven days. "I know there are times when it's hard to lay off pitches. Everyone goes through stretches when he's too eager to put the ball in play. You know, though, I feel like this past week I was able to get in the right frame of mind and just let things come naturally," said Hewett. He posted a .611 average (11-for-18) this past week with 2 home runs, 6 RBIs, and 4 runs scored. So far in 2025 Hewett is batting .299 with 4 home runs, 13 RBIs and 11 runs scored. He has 26 hits in 87 at-bats and a .421 OBP. |
