South Bend Goes Scoreless Against McQuain, Loons Friday, May 9th , 2025 It was not a good day at the plate for the South Bend Cubs. They came up empty when it mattered against Great Lakes Loons left-hander Russ McQuain, who scattered 6 hits across 9 innings and held the Cubs scoreless. "We had 6 hits so I know he wasn't completely untouchable, but he was close," South Bend manager Rory Powell said later. McQuain chalked up 4 strikeouts and 1 walk in the 4-0 Loons win. For the season, McQuain has compiled a 3-2 record with a 1.95 ERA. |
