5-for-6 Day for Moore Monday, May 11th , 2026 South Bend left fielder Sam Moore had a big day at Great Lakes Stadium against the Great Lakes Loons. The 22-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-6 and led to the 8-7 Cubs triumph over Great Lakes. "Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Moore said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all." Sam Moore singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th, hit an RBI single in the 8th and singled in the 10th. Posting a .358 batting average to date, Moore has 2 home runs and 17 RBIs. |
