Brown Put in Cooler, Hitless Against Cedar Rapids Friday, June 13th , 2025 Marcus Brown, center fielder for the South Bend Cubs, gave it a good try, but his time chasing history came to an end when he went hitless in 1 tries against the Cedar Rapids Kernels. Not only did the Kernels break his 20-game hitting streak, they also beat South Bend by the score of 4-2. "Now that the streak has ended, I can admit I'll breathe a bit easier the next time I step up to bat," Brown said, speaking with the media after the game. "It was tough because I put a little pressure on myself. Now that it's over, I will definitely be a little bit looser at the plate." To date Brown has chalked up a .287 average with 3 home runs, driven in 24 runs and scored 24 times. |
